Fabbeh Husein has been involved in the empowerment of the disadvantaged communities for the last 38 years in Britain, Italy, Kenya and Pakistan. Much of the work has been in the field of community development and education. He has worked in variety of contexts.

He has been a teacher, youth worker, Head of Department in an inner city comprehensive school, Advisory Teacher, Head of Service of Multicultural Education, School Adviser, School Inspector, Senior Lecturer in Youth and Community Development and Course Tutor for a post graduate social science course and finally as a Director of Strategies for EMA in a large northern local authority. Throughout this period he worked voluntarily in a variety of successful community campaigns. At the same time he has been a consultant and a trainer for a variety of governmental and private organisations in UK.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Education (BEd with distinction in Teaching Practice) Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Guidance and Master of Philosophy (MPhil).

He retired recently from full time work and now continues to work on a part time basis on the theme of empowerment albeit in different landscapes such as on `local government boards`, `thematic groups` and `partnerships`.
