Naheed Arshad-Mather

Naheed Arshad-Mather MBE is Chair of the BME Panel.

Naheed is as a self-employed training consultant with 18 years of Higher Education teaching experience both at under-graduate and post graduate levels.

She is Chair of Unity Housing in Leeds, Magistrate Chair on the Huddersfield bench, Independent Chair of Kirklees Social Services Complaints Panel, a member of Yorkshire and Humber Assembly. Naheed is a former high school governor and a National Executive Council Member of the University and College Lecturers union NATFHE.

She has expertise in the field of Education, Housing, Criminal Justice System, and the Voluntary Community Sector. Naheed received an MBE in 2003 for services to housing and the community in West Yorkshire. In 2005 she was a member of the Home Office Task Force on 'Preventing Extremism Together'. Currently she is on the parliamentary BME Task Force on Representation, which is aimed at increasing participation in public institutions, local, and national government by the BME communities.
