Submitted by Gopal Lama on Mon, 16/07/2007 - 10:13am.

Pay & Employment Rights Service is currently involved in commissioning research into the barriers Pakistani & Bangladeshi women home workers face in escaping poverty. The research is funded by Oxfam UK and it it will be used as a means to influence national policy .

We need women homeworkers from the Pakistani and Bangladeshi community, in West Yorkshire, to participate in the reserach.

If you are aware of any Paksitani/Bangladeshi women who fall into this category, or if yourself do, and may be interested in taking part in this research, i would very grateful if you could get in touch with me.

In order to gain insight into the issues, we need to gather anecdotal information from Pakistani & Bangladeshi women in West Yorkshire, who currently, or have previously, worked from home. ALL INFORAMATION GATHERED WILL BE ANONYMISED SO THAT NO INDIVIDUAL CAN BE IDENTIFIED.

We want to explore :

Capacitybuilders - details of new funding programme announced

Submitted by editor on Mon, 21/08/2006 - 10:19am.

Capacitybuilders has announced details of a new funding programme which aims to improve the reach of infrastructure for a range of marginalised groups.

Improving Reach is a pilot programme which will run until March 2008. We hope to extend the scope of the programme and build on its success in future years following an evaluation of the pilot.

The aim of the Improving Reach programme is to improve access to capacity building and support for a range of frontline groups / organisations that may not have been reached in previous ChangeUp programmes.

In particular the programme is aimed at:

* Black and minority ethnic groups
* Refugee and migrant groups
* Faith groups
* Isolated rural groups

Improving Reach is open to all eligible organisations and is not restricted to existing ChangeUp consortia in recognition of the barriers to participation which may have limited some organisations active involvement in ChangeUp to date.

For further information and full details on the programme please visit : www.capacitybuilders.org.uk/fund
