Submitted by editor on Tue, 05/08/2008 - 3:48pm.

The North Kirklees Inter Faith Council has published a report "Beyond the Veil", research project into people’s perception of the Muslim Veil in Kirklees. The report concludes: “ The perception of Muslims and their contribution to society is generally positive” and “Public versus private displays of religiosity is not a new issue in this country, but in this case there is clearly a need and a desire for clarity and debate to help people make an informed decision”.
